Canyon Lands National Park - Utah

Canyon Lands National Park - Utah

Truly a wonder of this beautiful land of ours. You just feel so small on the edge of this vast canyon. It’s so hard to image it was once filled with water.

Canyonlands National Park in southeastern Utah is known for its dramatic desert landscape carved by the Colorado River. Island in the Sky is a huge, flat-topped mesa with panoramic overlooks. Other notable areas include the towering rock pinnacles known as the Needles, the remote canyons of the Maze and the Native American rock paintings in Horseshoe Canyon. Whitewater rapids flow through Cataract Canyon.

Bucket List Item.

Deposition of sediments by ancient oceans, freshwater lakes, streams and wind blown sand dunes created the rock layers of canyon country. Igneous activity formed the high mountains...

Rifle Falls

We went on another adventure today. Just outside of Silt Colorado is a beautiful water fall at Rifle Falls, it’s in Rifle Gap State Park. They have lots of full hookup camping sites on the beautiful blue lake. Great spot for camping but I had zero cell signal.
